Adani Wilmar has recently changed its name to AWL Agri Business Limited after getting the approval from the shareholders to consolidate its core agri-business. The change of name shows the company’s ambition to better fit the company’s growing role in the agriculture and food sectors and to prepare for the future in the industry. The rebranding takes place as Adani Wilmar seeks to enhance its presence in the agri-business sector by expanding its product range. As per reports, the company is likely to launch new products in FY26 for both cost conscious consumers as well as the high end consumers of kitchen essentials category. It is expected that this strategy will leverage on the expected increase in demand from the urban centers following the recent income tax cuts announced in the national Budget. In addition, Adani Wilmar has been expanding its infrastructure spending. A significant achievement in this plan is the completion of a Rs 1,300 crore food processing facility in Sonepat, Haryana, which was established with the help of IPO funds raised in 2022. The facility that began operation in the previous month will produce edible oils and other food products, which will enable the company increase its production. This rebranding is not just a change of the company’s name – it is Adani Wilmar’s approach to become a significant actor in the agri-business sector and at the same time to remain the leader of the Indian FMCG market. Thus, the company is well-positioned to lead the way in terms of innovation, market development and consumer value proposition in the agri-food sector as AWL Agri Business Limited.
