Vedanta Ltd has appointed Rajiv Kumar as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its aluminium business from March 26, 2025. The appointment was made by the Board of Directors after the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee as per the company’s regulatory filing.
Kumar has more than thirty years of experience in the steel and mining industries and has strategic expertise and operational leadership experience at Vedanta Aluminium. He has worked with Tata Steel and has a General Management degree from INSEAD, France and a Metallurgical Engineering degree from BIT Sindri. His appointment is for a three year term.
Kumar will lead strategic growth by implementing demerger strategies and business expansion and marketing and ESG initiatives in his new position. The company will achieve operational efficiency through technological advancements and digital transformation and process innovation according to his leadership plan. The leadership will create enduring value for shareholders together with stakeholders.
The leadership team expansion at Vedanta Aluminium supports the company’s strategic plan for business transformation and sustainable growth. The BSE recorded a 0.53% increase in Vedanta Ltd shares which finished at ₹464.15 due to investor optimism about the announcement.
