The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman travels to the United Kingdom and Austria for official business starting today to strengthen economic ties and enhance financial partnerships. The visit’s main event will be her attendance at the 13th Ministerial round of the India–UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) which takes place in London on April 9, 2025.
The 13th EFD will be co-chaired by the Union Minister and the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer. The dialogue at this level enables participants to discuss investment and digital finance alongside climate financing and taxation and UPI integration. The dialogue focuses on insurance and pension sector cooperation and IFSC GIFT City development.
Smt. Sitharaman will participate in the India-UK Investor Roundtable as co-host with Rt. Hon. Jonathan Reynolds UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade will co-host this event with Smt. Sitharaman while they meet top CEOs and financial leaders. The roundtable event receives support from the City of London during its organization.
The Union Minister will meet Austrian Finance Minister and Federal Chancellor among other senior officials during her visit to Austria. The Union Minister will co-lead an investment session with Austrian CEOs to showcase India’s growing economic potential.
