Influencers are now what Meta is trying to do to make Facebook relevant again, as the platform has been losing ground to TikTok and YouTube. Meta has announced new rewards and features in an attempt to lure the best creators and increase interaction on the platform. According to The Information, Meta has gone as far as to contact popular influencers like MrBeast and Mark Rober in a bid to get their ideas on how to make Facebook more enjoyable.
This is because, today, many content creators are leaving the various social networks in order to post their content and get more viewers and, importantly, earnings. To this end, Meta is thinking about monetary incentives and other advantages to make Facebook attractive for influencers. Although the specific monetary benefits are still unknown, they may involve straight forward payment, increased sharing of ad revenue and other benefits that are meant to encourage the creators to post more on Facebook.
Along with that, Meta is thinking of bringing back some of the old features that were available on Facebook when it was still in college to attract the Gen Z users, who are not very fond of the network as much as they are to Instagram and TikTok.
Although Facebook has its issues, it has millions of users but Meta knows that to keep up with the long term growth it has to change with the changes in the social media world. The company’s attempts to attract influencers are going on at the same time as the general changes, including several rounds of layoffs in an attempt to make the company leaner.
In its attempt to become the go-to social network for influencers, Meta is trying to reshape Facebook to be a friendly platform for creators and introduce features that will appeal to them in order to continue to attract new users and new content
