AI Agents for Small Businesses are being implemented to provide customer service and Meta and Salesforce have recently introduced tools to help with that. Meta has launched a pilot programme that incorporates AI customer service agents on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, which enables businesses to receive and respond to inquiries, process returns, and take payments within real-time. These agents use information about a business’s presence on Meta—information that could include details about past posts and interactions with customers—to offer customers support right on the ad or within the comments section. However, Salesforce has introduced AgentExchange, a new marketplace for AI agents in enterprise software, to revolutionize customer relationship management (CRM). In partnership with over 200 major companies including Google Cloud, DocuSign, Box, and Workday, Salesforce is making it easier for businesses to find and implement pre-packaged AI solutions from their partners without the need for in-house technical skills. Standard AI chatbots work on text-based responses only but these new generations of AI agents are able to perform various work autonomously and free up people’s time for the tasks that really matter – like improving customer satisfaction and retention. It is predicted that 2025 would be the year of the AI agents as generative AI is no longer limited to the retrieval of information but to the performance of activities that increase productivity. Organizations are advised to avail these tools to improve their processes and interact with their customers in new and better ways. The future of automated operations is here and those small businesses that adopt these solutions now will have a competitive advantage. These businesses can now concentrate on growth and delivering excellent customer experiences with the help of AI agents that are able to handle an entire customer service team.
