Amazon will direct its attention toward smaller towns and cities during its three-day Prime Day sale which takes place from July 12 to 14. The e-commerce giant plans to enhance customer interaction in non-metro areas because Indian e-commerce growth has started to slow down. The upcoming sale will introduce special product releases together with enhanced discounts and no-interest EMIs and expanded delivery options to all PIN code areas.
Amazon launched Prime in India during 2016 and since then has developed Prime Lite and Prime Shopping Edition membership plans to serve various consumer needs. The company announced that Prime members now purchase products from 98% of all Indian PIN codes because their membership base has expanded beyond metropolitan areas. The Prime Day deals will include travel bookings and entertainment options with fresh content available on Prime Video.
Amazon dedicates ₹2,000 crore to build its delivery network while improving logistics speed and seller and associate satisfaction to fight against Flipkart and Meesho competition.
