R Bruce McDonald has been named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer by Dana, effective immediately. In addition, he will be a member of the Board of Directors. He will succeed James Kamsickas, who has been the company’s CEO for nine years and is now retiring. Kamsickas will continue to advise the business through March 2025 in order to facilitate a seamless transfer.
“My conviction in our businesses, the team, and the opportunities to capitalize on the EV transition over the long term remains strong,” McDonald said as he took on his new position, underscoring his dedication to generating value for the company. I’m excited to start my new position as CEO at such a significant moment for Dana.
Lead Independent Director Keith Wandell of Dana emphasized the leadership transition as a component of the company’s plan to deal with the quickly changing mobility sector. “I am proud of the work the Dana team has done over the past decade to grow revenues and successfully enhance the technology to serve all mobility markets no matter what type of propulsion they may use,” Kamsickas said in reflection of his tenure.
McDonald has been in leadership positions for thirty years. R. Bruce McDonald has been a pioneer in the industrial and automotive sectors for more than 30 years. In addition to serving on the Audit Committee and chairing the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, he has been a member of Dana’s Board of Directors since 2014.
He has served in a number of executive positions at Johnson Controls, including Executive Vice President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Vice President and CFO. He is also the former Chairman and CEO of Adient, a worldwide mobility provider. He gained more business experience in mergers and acquisitions while serving as Vice President of Finance at TRW Automotive earlier in his career.
