The company that runs DMart, Avenue Supermarts Ltd., announced a 5.77 per cent increase in consolidated net profit for the July to September quarter, coming in at Rs. 659.58 crore as opposed to Rs. 623.56 crore in the same period last year. Additionally, the business recorded a 14.4% increase in sales from Rs 12,624.37 crore to Rs 14,444.50 crore in Q2FY25.
DMart’s profit before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) in Q2FY25 was Rs 1,094 crore, down from Rs 1,005 crore in the same quarter the previous year, according to the consolidated financial report that was presented to the markets on October 12. In Q2FY25, the EBITDA margin was 7.6%, down from 8% in Q2FY24.
For the quarter that concluded on September 30, 2024, the retail chain operator’s consolidated total sales was Rs 14,445 crore, up from Rs 12,624 crore during the same time the previous year. In Q2FY25, its basic earnings per share (EPS) was Rs 10.14, up from Rs 9.58 in Q2FY24.
Avenue Supermarts’ overall revenue on an H1FY25 basis was Rs 28,514 crore, up from Rs 24,490 crore during the same period the previous year. EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation, was Rs. 2,315 crore in H1FY25 as opposed to Rs. 2,040 crore in H1FY24. In H1FY25, the EBITDA margin was 8.1%, as opposed to 8.3% in H1FY24.
Consolidated net profit on an H1FY25 basis was Rs 1,433 crore as opposed to Rs 1,282 crore in H1FY24, and the PAT margin was 5.0 per cent as opposed to 5.2 per cent. In H1FY25, basic earnings per share (EPS) were Rs 22.03, up from Rs 19.72 in H1FY24.
