JSW Energy established a 100 MW solar power purchase agreement with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). JSW Renew Energy Forty Five secured the deal through its step-down subsidiary to provide power at ₹4.31 per kWh for 25 years.
The solar project will contain a 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) which will provide stable grid operation and continuous power delivery. The project will establish operations at a designated location before connecting to the 220/400 kV KPTCL Firozabad substation in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka.
The agreement has brought JSW Energy’s total energy storage capacity to 29.4 GWh through its BESS and Pumped Hydro Storage systems which amount to 3.0 GWh and 26.4 GWh respectively. The company continues to work toward its goal of reaching 40 GWh in energy storage capacity by 2030 which enhances its renewable energy capabilities.
JSW achieves another important step in its sustainable energy journey through this agreement which supports India’s clean energy development goals.
