The purchase of Gini & Jony, a children’s clothing company with 44 years of history in India, has been announced by Suditi Industries. The purchase is a component of Suditi’s plan to increase its market share in the children’s clothing industry by utilising its supply chain and manufacturing capabilities. Through an omni-channel strategy that includes collaborations with Large Format Stores (LFS), the opening of Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs), and enhanced availability on e-commerce platforms, Suditi intends to improve Gini & Jony’s market reach.
To meet the changing demands of the Indian kidswear industry, the firm plans to combine its operational experience with Gini & Jony’s well-established brand name. As it pursues long-term growth prospects, Suditi sees the acquisition as a step towards solidifying its position in the market. “Gini and Jony are a wonderful addition to the Suditi Industries family. This acquisition highlights our desire to fully control the kidswear market, particularly in light of the market’s post-Covid correction.
The brand has a great legacy that appeals to generations of Indian families. We want to give this cherished name new life and scale by fusing the history of Gini & Jony with the operational prowess of Suditi. This collaboration aims to provide the Indian market with unmatched quality while also generating profit for our shareholders. The managing director of Suditi Industries, Pawan Agarwal, stated.
According to Agarwal, who went on to explain the potential impact of Suditi’s vertical arrangement, “Suditi’s internal capacity to produce fabrics for over 100,000 garments per day positions us uniquely to scale Gini & Jony.” This indicates the enormous potential of what we can accomplish by concentrating our knowledge and resources since it equates to about Rs 6 crores in sales each day for the brand.
“This collaboration combines the qualities of two very different organisations: Suditi’s sophisticated production skills and Gini & Jony’s reputation as a reliable brand in childrenswear. The participation of the next generation—my daughter Roshni and Pawanji’s son Harsh—who offer new insights as young parents themselves is what makes this journey even more memorable. I do not doubt that Gini & Jony will remain at the forefront of the Indian childrenswear market because of their vision and comprehension of the contemporary consumer. Gini & Jony’s founder, Prakash Lakhani, stated.
