Akshay Kumar, a Bollywood actor, frequently makes news for his charitable endeavours. The actor said in his most recent social media post that, with the assistance of his team and the Anjaneya Seva Trust, he fed more than 1,250 monkeys in Ayodhya. Akshay brought attention to the growing number of monkeys in the sacred city of Ayodhya on Instagram.
In the footage posted by the actor, a group of monkeys is spotted roaming the temple grounds and adjacent environs. The actor spearheaded the effort to feed monkeys in Ayodhya in collaboration with the Anjaneya Seva Trust. The “Khiladi” actor asserted that the monkeys in Ayodhya receive wholesome food every day as part of this program.
Their two main concerns in this movement are safety and cleanliness. A vehicle with a trunk full of bananas was seen in the footage. By having their names inscribed on the feeding van, the actor also honoured his parents and father-in-law, Rajesh Khanna. The Akshay Kumar team gathers the banana peels that the monkeys drop after eating them to minimise waste management. After that, they are given to the cows, whose manure is used to grow banana trees. When posting the video on Instagram, Akshay referred to it as a “chhoti si koshish (a small effort).” The celebrity gave Rs 1 million earlier this year to help feed the Ayodhya monkeys
According to information provided by Akshay’s team, Akshay honoured his father-in-law, the late legendary star Rajesh Khanna, and his parents by having their names inscribed on the feeding van in addition to donating Rs 1 crore to feed the monkeys at Ayodhya, the home of Lord Ram, ahead of Diwali. Under the direction of Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj, the Anjaneya Sewa Trust is leading this effort. According to Priya Gupta, founder and trustee of the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, they would make sure that people are not inconvenienced.
Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, just disclosed the release date for his much-awaited horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla. The movie will mark his reunion with seasoned filmmaker Priyadarshan and will be released on April 2, 2026. Along with a brand-new movie poster that has already caused a wave of excitement among fans, the actor revealed the joyful news on his official Instagram account.
