Akasa Air plans to expand its fleet to 226 aircraft by 2032 according to Chief Financial Officer Ankur Goel during his announcement on Tuesday. The airline launched in August 2022 and has expanded its operations to operate 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft across 23 domestic and international destinations.
During his New Delhi press briefing Goel emphasized Akasa Air’s dedication to cost leadership while pursuing aggressive growth. The airline has secured firm orders for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft which will arrive during the next seven years.
The carrier aims to expand its fleet at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25–30% throughout this period according to Goel. The fast-paced expansion demonstrates Akasa Air’s goal to become a significant force in India’s competitive aviation sector and expand its international route network.
The airline follows a strategic approach that matches the rapid growth of India’s air travel industry because of increasing consumer demand and expanding middle-class populations. Through its expansion strategy combined with cost efficiency Akasa Air establishes itself as a strong competitor against established airlines in both domestic and international markets.
