YouTube will eliminate its trending page because it plans to remove its non-personalized “Trending” and “Trending Now” sections which launched in 2015. The platform observed that users now find popular content through recommendations and search and Shorts and comments and Communities which resulted in a significant drop in Trending page visits throughout the last five years.
YouTube Charts serves as the new destination for users after removing the trending page because it provides trending music and weekly podcasts and movie trailers and additional content. The Gaming Explore page on YouTube provides users with the most popular gaming content.
The Explore menu on channels allows users to browse content without personalization recommendations but they can still receive personalized suggestions through the recommendations feature. The new Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio provides creators with content suggestions that match their audience interests.
The new Hype feature enables viewers to boost visibility for their favorite new videos. The platform stated that these modifications serve two purposes: they enhance user discovery and provide creators with better tools for understanding their audience while replacing the outdated Trending page with a customized experience.
