The Bank of Baroda plans to introduce an updated version of its BoB World mobile application before the end of the current fiscal year according to MD and CEO Debadatta Chand. The new BoB World version 2 will deliver enhanced user experiences through its digital architecture which supports both internet and mobile banking platforms and provides multiple innovative features.
The internal development team continues to enhance the application through their active work which will result in substantial user engagement growth. The BoB World app user base reached 3.27 crore during March 31, 2025 after starting from 3.06 crore in FY24. The platform received 36 new features from Bank of Baroda during the FY24-25 period.
The BoB World app received attention in 2023 when the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) stopped new customer onboarding because of regulatory issues. The bank implemented corrective actions which led the RBI to remove the ban in May 2024 so new customers could start onboarding again.
The digital transformation strategy of Bank of Baroda includes investing more than 10% of operating profits for both revenue and capital expenditure according to MD and CEO Debadatta Chand.
