    Devastating Bridge Collapse in Bihar: Connectivity Disrupted, Raising Infrastructure Concerns

    The 70-meter bridge on a tributary of the Kankai river, which associated the Bahadurganj and Dighalbank blocks in Bihar’s Kishanganj area, collapsed on Thursday, marking the fourth such occurrence in the state inside just over a week. The bridge collapse has extremely influenced the connectivity between the two towns, in spite of the fact that fortunately, no injuries were reported.

    Officials attributed the bridge collapse to the overwhelming precipitation in the catchment area in Nepal, which driven to a sudden rise in the water level and caused one of the bridge’s columns to fail under the solid current. Locale Officer Tushar Singla expressed that the 70-meter-long and 12-meter-wide bridge was built in 2011 over the Madiya, a little tributary that interfaces the Kankai river to the Mahananda.
