Bhupendra Patel launched the Global Capability Centre policy as Gujarat chief minister to bring in ₹10,000 crore investment and establish 250 GCCs within the next five years. The expected outcome of this initiative will create more than 50,000 job opportunities across the state. Patel made the policy announcement at GIFT City in Gandhinagar. Patel stated that GCCs have transformed from being basic cost centres to becoming vital centres for creating innovative solutions in technology management and financial services as well as analytical management and engineering and research activities. He discussed the development status of the state’s infrastructure with a special focus on the progress made in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara and Surat. The policy objective is to establish Gujarat as the leading location for GCCs while driving forward economic advancement and digital transformation and creative development. The support includes a 7% interest subsidy on term loans and electricity duty reimbursement along with capital expenditure assistance that can reach a maximum of ₹200 crore. The support for operational expenditure will provide businesses with up to ₹40 crore. The employment generation incentives provide one-time assistance that covers 50% of one month’s salary for newly recruited local employees while providing additional benefits for female employees. The programme places a major emphasis on skill development through reimbursement of course fees for students up to 75% of the total and for working professionals, it covers 50%. The policy matches Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital transformation vision and positions India as a global leader in the GCC ecosystem. GIFT City’s world-class infrastructure together with its strategic fintech and AI focus positions it as a developing hub for global enterprises while driving India’s digital expansion.
