HDFC Bank will introduce substantial credit card rule modifications which will begin on July 1, 2025 and has surprised numerous cardholders. The HDFC Bank modifications affect lounge access and rent payments and wallet loading and reward points and online gaming transactions.
Tata Neu Infinity and Tata Neu Plus cardholders will lose their ability to access domestic airport lounges through swiping starting from June 10. HDFC Bank will distribute lounge access vouchers to customers based on their quarterly spending activity. The new rent payment system includes a 1% fee which does not exceed ₹4,999 per month. The 1% fee will apply to skill-based gaming transactions exceeding ₹10,000 per month with a maximum transaction amount of ₹4,999.
The cost of wallet loading will increase because users must pay a 1% fee for amounts exceeding ₹10,000 in all wallets except PayZapp. The HDFC Bank-owned PayZapp wallet service remains free from this fee.
HDFC Bank has modified the reward point restrictions that users can earn. The Infinia and Infinia Metal Edition cards now provide a maximum of 10,000 points each month but Diners Black and premium cards have a 5,000 point limit. Insurance payments through non-premium cards will have a 2,000-point reward point restriction. The Marriott Bonvoy HDFC cardholders will not encounter any reward point restrictions.
