IndiGo is to begin operating its first leased wide-body aircraft on the Delhi-Bangkok route from March 1. From March 1, the airline will be introducing a Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which has been leased from Norse Atlantic Airways, to meet increasing demand for air travel. The daily nonstop flights will have business class seats and are expected to be a more comfortable flying experience. IndiGo’s flight 6E 1053 will take off from Delhi at 10 am IST and arrive in Bangkok at 3:45 pm local time and the return flight 6E 1054 will take off from Bangkok at 3:45 pm local time and land in Delhi at 5:55 pm IST. IndiGo’s CEO, Pieter Elbers said that the early induction of the wide-body aircraft is a key milestone in the airline’s expansion. He continued, “This is a big step in the evolution of India’s aviation sector to meet the growing demand.” For now, looking ahead, IndiGo plans to expand its network to Europe by the middle of summer and is further solidifying its international presence. The Dreamliner flights are now available for booking via IndiGo’s official channels and aggregator websites.
