Reliance’s JioStar now has JioHotstar as a new streaming platform after the merger of JioCinema with Disney+ Hotstar. JioHotstar stands ready to become India’s largest streaming platform because it starts with a huge user base of 50 crores and a content library across 3 lakh hours. JioHotstar subscription plans present three choices designed to satisfy varying customer requirements. The most basic plan is the Mobile plan which provides three-month subscription at ₹149 and yearly access at ₹499. A single mobile device user gets access to content without ads on this plan. The Super (ad-supported) option provides three-month access from ₹299 and yearly access from ₹899 which allows users to connect their devices simultaneously to mobile, web and living room platforms. The Premium plan provides ad-free viewing along with ultra HD 4K streaming as well as access to four devices at ₹299 per month or ₹1,499 per year. JioHotstar offers a vast collection of domestic and international series from Disney, NBCUniversal’s Peacock, HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount. Cricket enthusiasts will watch top tournaments including IPL, WPL and ICC cricket series while other sport fans will enjoy English Premier League matches alongside Wimbledon coverage along with Pro Kabaddi League events and ISL action. The platform serves sports fans through its advanced features which include multi-angle viewing as well as AI-powered insights and real-time stats overlays. The current subscribers of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar will move directly to JioHotstar. After the Disney-Reliance merger received approval from both the Competition Commission of India and the National Company Law Tribunal, Reliance owns a 60% stake in the joint venture which positions JioHotstar at the top of India’s expanding streaming sector.
