Digital Edge Expands to India with Massive Data Center Plans A Singaporean data center company has announced its expansion into india. They’ve partnered with the national investment and infrastructure fund (NIIF) and AGP DC investCo Pte Ltd(AGP) to create a series of huge data centers over india, working beneath of Digital Edge DC. Their first extend is a 300MW data center in Navi Mumbai, which will be built in phases starting in early 2023. The total investment is estimated at $1.5 billion. This facility will cater to high-demand information storage needs, utilizing advanced designing engineering. Located strategically in Navi Mumbai, known as india’s primary data center hub, the site offers simple access to basic foundation like power and fiber network. The to begin with stage of development, BOM1, is expected to be completed by Q1 2025. This acquisition, valued at Rs 806 crore($97.2m), is from steel manufacturer Mukand. Samuel Lee, CEO of Digital Edge, expressed excitement about the extend, highlightning its significance in the company’s development journey. He emphasized the solid partnership between Digital Edge, NIIF, and AGP, combining worldwide ability with local information to execute the project efficiently. Digital Edge DC(India) Private Restricted, a joint wander company, is managing the venture. Set up in 2019, it is portion of the Computerized Edge company Edge family and offers carrier-neutral collocation services. Digital Edge also has a partnership with a nearby Chinese operator, Chuanjun Information Technology, for its PEK1 information center in Beijing, offering 7.8MW of capacity. NIIF, built up 2015, is an Indian sovereign wealth finance focused on infrastructure investment. AGP, based in Singapore, is an asset development and investment management group, with AGP DC serving as its digital infrastructure platform. According to a recent report, Navi Mumbai and Central Mumbai are arising as key data center markets in the Asia-Pacific region, supported by updates to Maharastra’s IT policy, which have spurred information center improvement in the area.
