JSW Energy reached a significant milestone through its first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The company announced its agreement to supply 230 MW of ISTS-connected FDRE under SECI's Tranche IV scheme on Friday. The agreement extends for 25 years at a price of ₹4.98 per kWh which represents a major achievement for the company's renewable energy strategy. The agreement increases JSW Energy's under-construction capacity to 12.9 GW and locks in 30.2 GW of total generation capacity. The company continues to move forward toward its goal of reaching 30 GW installed generation and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030. JSW Energy Joint Managing Director and CEO Sharad Mahendra celebrated this achievement by stating it represents a major advancement in delivering customized load-following energy solutions. The PPA demonstrates JSW Energy's expanding dominance in India's energy transition while showcasing its commitment to develop sustainable power solutions that meet changing consumer requirements. The agreement demonstrates JSW Energy's dedication to creating a sustainable energy system which will provide both reliability and flexibility for India's future.
