A few Adani group companies have released their shareholding patterns for the September quarter, including the group’s flagship company, Adani Enterprises Ltd., Adani Power Ltd., Adani Green Energy Ltd., Adani Total Gas Ltd., Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., Adani Wilmar Ltd., and Adani Enterprises Ltd.
According to data, international portfolio investors reduced their exposure to Adani Green Energy and Adani Power but expanded their ownership of Adani Enterprises. Meanwhile, mutual funds acquired shares in Adani Ports and the company’s flagship but held minor stakes in a few other Adani companies. Data indicated that HNIs and retail investors did not manipulate their shareholdings.
Regarding Adani Enterprises, mutual funds increased their holding by 43 basis points, from 1.76 per cent in the June quarter to 2.19 per cent. As of September 30, FPI held a 9.16% holding in Adani Enterprises, compared to a 9.5% stake the previous day.
FPIs reduced their investment in Adani Power by 207 basis points in Q2 to 12.66% from 14.73% in Q1. The MF position in this Adani company increased from 1.41 per cent to 1.51 per cent, a 10 basis point increase. Additionally, FPIs reduced their ownership of Adani Green Energy Ltd. by 175 basis points, from 16.91 per cent to 15.16 per cent. In the meantime, investment funds increased their holding in Adani Ports by 56 basis points from 3.46 per cent in the June quarter to 4.02 per cent in the September quarter. The FPI holding remained relatively stable at 15.21%.
In Q2, the FPI position in Adani Total Gas Ltd was 13.07 per cent, compared to 12.96 per cent in Q1. The MF holding was negligible. FPI and MF interests in Adani Wilmar were less than 1%. A 10.09 per cent stake was held by retail investors in Adani Wilmar. In its September quarter report, the business stated that, on an annual basis, overall sales volume increased by 10% for the quarter.
The company’s double-digit YoY sales growth was driven by excellent performance in the edible oils and food businesses. FPI held 13.07 per cent of Adani Total Gas Ltd. in the second quarter, while retail ownership ended the period at 5.46 per cent, essentially unchanged from the June quarter.
