New prices of L.P.G for commercial cylinders have been increased by ₹6 in all the Indian cities from March 1. This revision effective from today has increased the price of an Indane 19 kg cylinder from ₹1,797 to ₹1,803, as announced by oil marketing companies (OMCs).
The least: The least was a ₹7 price decrease in February which made commercial L.P.G rates to fluctuate. This increase is expected to affect hotels, restaurants and other businesses that use bulk L.P.G. In March 2023, L.P.G commercial cylinder prices had risen very high by ₹352, which is one of the highest increases in the recent past.
Although the prices of commercial L.P.G have increased, domestic cylinder prices have not been changed since August 2024. The family size has not changed the price of a 14.2 kg domestic L.P.G cylinder, which has remained constant. However, by revising the rates, the commercial entities will incur more expenses towards the supply of input factors.
The prices of L.P.G differ from one city to another because of the cost of transportation and local taxes. As of February 1, an Indane 19 kg gas cylinder was ₹1,797 in Delhi, ₹1,907 in Kolkata, ₹1,749.50 in Mumbai and ₹1,959.50 in Chennai. The new commercial L.P.G rates will take effect across the country; nonetheless, the actual prices may differ depending on the region.
Initially, companies that employ L.P.G for business may not increase their service prices but, in the long run, they may have to do so due to price fluctuations. Customers are encouraged to verify the current L.P.G prices with their suppliers or dealers in their respective areas.
